Missing

If you've been wondering where the hell I've been for the past few days, I can sum it up in one word. Reading. Yup, I've read close to 1000 pages since Sunday, and I'm nearing the end of this cycle. Thankfully, a new cycle starts on Friday morning with another large amount of reading.

What have I been reading. Oh, about modernism, anti-modernism, hegemony, McDonalds, oppression, Chicano history and theory, the history of American Studies. . . it's been an interesting few days in my head.

I'm starting to get the hang of it, though. And I haven't lost my mind yet. Or have I? Nena would probably have the best answer. . .anyway, time to go read.

Reading, huh? I suppose I should start reading too. Lately I've been playing lots of Zelda: Wind Waker, which tends to suck up the hours quickly...what an awesome game.

I missed RAW. Hope you did too. I heard it was exceptionally bad.

I feel your pain. I was at Cities 97 concert in the park on Sunday with a book and a binder of reserve reading that I didn't put down until BNL came on stage.

I read the history-of-the-discipline chapter of _Diffusion of Innovations_ by Rogers this morning. He slides intermittantly between the kind of revolutionary class conciousness we like to see and being a marketist punk, but I guess them's sociologists for ya.

Hrmmm, interesting. Gen. Belgrano, might I recommend to you, "The Sign of the Burger" by Joe Kincheloe. I think your particular slant on food might make it an interesting read for you.

That said, you should come get a Ph.D with me here. . .I think you'd fit in perfectly.
